When it comes to food, studies show that having a balanced and nutritious diet directly impacts a child’s growth and development. That’s why Nurseries by Gymfinity Kids has asked our expert children’s nutritionist, Sarah, to create all our menus, ensuring our children are given a nutritional and balanced diet.

A bit about Sarah Almond Bushell, the Children’s Nutritionist

Sarah is a Registered Dietitian with over 20 years of experience, honoured by the British Dietetic Association and commended by the Government for her work in nursery school nutrition.

While education is vital in this area, Sarah can also bring first-hand experience of nourishing young children, being full time mum to Charlie and Maisie.

Let’s break down what proper nourishment means to children’s development

Food for focus
Studies suggest children who are hungry are not able to focus, have a low attention span and exhibit behaviour issues. Therefore, at Nurseries by Gymfinity Kids, we follow the NHS portion guidelines for children at all times.

It’s also suggested in studies that good nutrition encourages better performance during physical activity. While physical activity plays a huge role in the development of a healthy body, it’s also important for developing mentally and socially.
